Jen Calder

Kingston-based Singer-songwriter Jen Calder has spent her whole life creating, playing and listening to music. Pairing finger-picking rootsy folk style acoustic guitar with looped percussion and harmony vocals, Jen writes songs that pull you in and keep you safe in sound.

Influenced by artists like Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits and the Indigo girls, her passion is for rhythm: incorporating unique

time signatures and lyrics that capture the universal experiences we all move through and that move through us. Her warm and inviting voice leads you into a performance is engaging yet familiar, having earned vocal comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Natalie Merchant. Jen performs regularly around Kingston and area as a soloist and with her band, Jen Calder and her Jentlemen. Her album, Old News, is available via her Bandcamp and all streaming services.
