Live Music featuring Dave Bull
Dave Bull
Dave Bull has been in the Kingston music scene since playing at the Grad Club back in the mid eighties. He was known as “Buddy” by thousands of concertgoers who saw “Buddy Holly Live!” for 20 years (www.buddyholly.ca) playing to packed houses in theatres across Ontario under the management of Merv Buchanan (Much Music). Dave also plays as lead guitar/vocals in The Bon Evans Band (since 2011) and the ToneKats (since 2007). Described by Bill Welychka no doubt in jest, as “my second favourite guitarist in Kingston” , Dave has energy and depth and some serious chops. He knows songs from every decade right up to the present and plays to the crowd, taking and often playing requests on the spot. He has a large repertoire having played hundreds of shows over the years. On any given night Dave plays songs you know well but might also be pleasantly surprised to hear. He has been a cornerstone of the Kingston music scene on most weekends since moving from Toronto to Kingston in the early eighties. It’s always a special night when you come out to see Dave Bull – Dave is a rocker but he is just as comfortable on an acoustic guitar playing everything from the Beatles, The Hip, James Taylor, Weezer, John Denver, Incubus, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Foo Fighters, REM, Genesis, Cake, Bryan Adams, White Stripes, CCR, Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, STP, just about anything!
